The Somatic Home
is a devotion to the hallowed halls of home and ancestry, to the song of belonging harkening our human heart.
There is a time to wander and a time to return. A time to seek and a time to find.
We believe it is time for a collective homecoming.
Welcome Home.
The Founders
Jessica Forman
is a mother, ceremonialist, herbalist and writer devoted to excavating a more accurate tale of humanity's place, purpose and potential in the dance of connection that is life.
She began traveling the world alone at the age of 19, where she first felt the tug of the mythic threads that led her to the lands and initiations that would open her heart and mind to a fresh way of perceiving reality.
Through her studies of ancient healing practices and plant intelligence, nature pilgrimage and an innate gift of listening and language- she weaves her life force with the voices of the Otherworld to support the rooting and holy remembrance of the human psyche back into the bedrock of Earth's manifold nations, medicines and memories.
Jessica has a Bachelors of Science in Natural Health, attended the Coaches Training Institute, The Florida School of Holistic Living, is enrolled in The Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine and attended a two year apprenticeship in ceremonial based healing practices. She has always had an interest and natural sense for spatial design and how it effects human consciousness.
Singing, storytelling and being a mother are her hearts truest joys.
Nicteha Cohen
is a lifelong artist, designer, naturalist and explorer.
With her gypsy hippy upbringing, home has often felt elusive. After traveling much of the world as a tour guide, she contracted Lyme disease which left her homebound for nearly a decade.
She finally found that home was what she’d been seeking all along. Through the initiation of illness, and a ten year forced retreat in a 400 sq. foot studio, she was inspired by her studies of interior design, Feng Shui and the Nervous System and began to relate to her home as a cave of healing and beauty. She found that arranging space until it felt ‘just right’ was akin to any artistic endeavor and had the added affect of inducing a sense of ease and relief. As a Cranio Sacral therapist, she feels the work she is now doing is like Cranio Sacral for the home.
She holds a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies from Naropa University and certificates in Interior Design, Feng Shui, Herbal Medicine Making, Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy and Culinary Arts.
Aside from co-creating Salt + Gold: The Somatic Home, she founded Foxflower Studio where she offers Cranio Sacral Therapy and her line of wild botanical products.
Though she expresses through many avenues, all the spokes are held together by the purpose at the center:
HEALING WITH BEAUTY.
